If your tooth is broken, chipped, cracked, or became loose to due to physical injury, you need to seek help from one of our emergency dentists as soon as you can.

Bring your broken, chipped, and cracked tooth fragments wrapped in a wet gauze or towel to your appointment at one of our Gentle Dental Care offices. We may recommend cosmetic applications such as veneers and crowns, or other treatments such as fillings to cover up damaged teeth.

If you have lost a tooth, try to reinsert the loose tooth back into its socket and use a clean wash cloth to hold the tooth in place at its crown. Dirty teeth should have their roots cleaned, not scrubbed (as to not remove any tissue). If the tooth cannot be reinsert it, hold the tooth under the tongue and go to a dentist’s office as soon as possible.

Bleeding and swollen gums are generally caused by a gum infection, such as gingivitis, or gum diseases such as periodontal disease.
